City Slickers 2010/2011 - The Ale Trail is back!

On the 30th June 2011, the City Slickers Committee held its much anticipated Ale Trail. For those of you who are newbies, our Ale Trail is a vibrant fusion of games, drinks, music, laughter, food, prizes, fun…. and most importantly more drinking!

This year the event was kindly sponsored by Springfields and saw local professionals meeting at Fat Cats to mingle with one another before getting together in teams for the Ale Trail. The six teams then made their way to three well known drinking establishments to drink and to take part in a series of games against one another…

“Jenga” – But not as you know it… this was giant Jenga at Revolution. The teams competed against each other in this classic game with a difference and this year, some of our most competitive guests even resorted to climbing onto their seats to try and hold their nerves and claim victory!

“Charades” – Again, another classic but this year held in the tropical setting of Hakamou Bar. After sampling the cocktails (and mocktails) of Hakamou, guests performed to their own teams a series of movie, books and song titles, ranging from Mary Poppins to Westlife’s Flying without Wings.

“Quingo” – This year City Slickers introduced a new game to guests. Yes you guessed it, a blend of bingo and a quiz held at the Slug and Lettuce. A well received game which saw hard fought battles between all teams.

As the games came to an end, the event certainly didn’t as all teams returned to Fat Cats for some well deserved food and more drinks.

The City Slickers Committee would like to congratulate the overall winners at the event. As you can see from the photos, they were each delighted to receive their prize of £20 Highcross vouchers.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and all of the venues for their hospitality and also all those that have supported the City Slickers events throughout the 2010/2011 season.
